10 years Wood-Concrete-Composite Floors with HBV-SystemThe TiComTec GmbH can now celebrate a small milestone anniversary: the industrial fabrication of wood-concrete-composite floor with the HBV-System began exactly 10 years ago.The HBV-Plate Floor was developed for a floor ceiling measuring ca. 300 m² for an office building located near the city of Darmstadt. In only 3 months, a reference specimen with a span distance of 10 m with a scale of 1:1 was manufactured and tested at the MPA Wiesbaden. The execution of the construction resulted in approval for individual project within a very short time. In the meantime, the engineers from TiComTec GmbH in partnerships with Architects and Businesses developed a variety of HBV-Floor Types for individualised needs. In mid March 2011, the first HBV-Floor elements with plywood boards (span distance 9.80 m) were fabricated in an Austrian plywood factory. These were delivered for the construction of a College building in Cambridge, United Kingdom. It took only 5 working days to glue into place the 3000 m of HBV-Shear Connector into the 270 m³ of plywood boards. Presently, the preparation for the preassembly of ca. 8000 m² of HBV-Floor for a laboratory building is underway at the University of British Columbia in Canada. In the same building, the newly developed HSK-Systems will be also used for the first time in a staircase construction.
